The Process

1. Schedule Your Tax Return Preparation

  • Existing Clients: Please contact us to schedule your tax return preparation for a specific week during the tax season.

  • New/Prospective Clients: Please contact us for further information and scheduling.

  • In all cases, keep in mind your filing deadline:

    • April 15 if residing in the US as of April 15,

    • June 17 if residing outside the US as of April 15,

    • October 15 for those filing an extension (extensions must be filed by your original deadline, i.e., April 15 or June 17, per the above).

2. Send Us Your Information

  • Send us all your tax return information during the week for which your tax return preparation has been scheduled. Note: If you fail to send your information by the end of your scheduled week, your tax return will be de-prioritized relative to those for which clients have provided their information on time.

  • Please use our 2023 Tax Return Data Organizer (.xlsx) for providing your tax return data.

  • Please use our FBAR Data Organizer (.xlsx) for providing your Foreign Bank Account Report data.

3. We Prepare and Deliver Your Tax Return

  • If you can e-file, we will deliver your tax return to you as a PDF file, you then return a signature form to us, and we will then e-file your return on your behalf.

  • If you must paper-file, we will deliver your tax return to you as a PDF file, and you then print, sign and mail the return directly to the appropriate tax authority.

  • If you engage us to prepare your FBAR, we will deliver it to you as a PDF, you will return a signature authorization to us, and we will then e-file the FBAR on your behalf.

4. We SEND you our invoice

  • Tax returns are charged at a fixed minimum fee plus increments based on complexity.

  • Consulting and advisory services are charged at an hourly rate.

  • For new clients, fees will be communicated to you upon establishing an engagement for services. For returning clients, fees are generally same as the prior year, unless there are material changes in content or complexity.

  • Payment is due within 21 days of issuing your invoice. For large engagements, we generally request a retainer. Edelman Tax LLC accepts payment by US check (including online banking "Bill Pay"), wire transfer, and certain money transfer services (contact us for details). We do not accept debit/credit card payments.
